The Mother of All Cons Premieres on BBC Two

The Mother of All Cons, a new three-part documentary for BBC Studios, premieres on BBC Two at 9pm on Sunday 31 May 2026, with subsequent episodes airing across the following two Sundays. The series is also available on BBC iPlayer.

The documentary tells the extraordinary and troubling story of Megan Bhari and the charity Believe in Magic, which captured the public imagination after claiming to support seriously ill children and their families. Backed by celebrities and embraced by the public, the charity raised significant sums and brought joy to many children through once-in-a-lifetime experiences. However, as questions began to emerge surrounding Megan's illness and the charity's activities, an increasingly complex and unsettling story unfolded. The series examines themes of trust, vulnerability and deception, while seeking to understand the circumstances surrounding Megan's life and legacy.

I co-composed the score with Tim Atack. Musically, we were influenced in part by the protagonist's love of Disney, drawing on elements of wonder, nostalgia and emotional openness that formed an important part of Meg's world and identity.

The series was directed and produced by Luned Tonderai for BBC Studios.
